Bronxville Field Hockey Plays Webutuck in Final

MILTON, N.Y. -- Bronxville is aiming for something the Broncos last did in 2008 -- earn a berth in the New York State Field Hockey Championships Final Four. The Broncos will face Section 9 champion Webutuck in a Class C regional final Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Milton Sports Dome just outside of Newburgh. Bronxville will cap off a tripleheader beginning with the Class A regional title game as Mamaroneck plays Kingston (Section 9) at noon followed by Lakeland against Rondout Valley (Section 9) in the Class B final. The winners advance to the state Final Four on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20, at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. Lakeland and Mamaroneck are planning on a third consecutive trip to the state Final Four. Lakeland is the two-time defending Class B state champion. Since 2006, the Hornets have played in four state finals and won three championships -- 2006 Class A title. The Tigers have played in four state finals dating back to 2004 -- ‘05, ‘09, ‘10 -- and won the ‘04 state title.
