BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Central Atlantic Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that Concordia College men's soccer goaltender Ruel Gordon has been named Rookie of the Week for his play during the week of Sept. 3-9.
Gordon, a native of The Savanna La Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica, recorded eight saves in his first collegiate game as goalie for the men's soccer team in a 0-0 tie against Philadelphia University on Saturday.
The freshman goalie has been a bright spot as the Clippers have begun the season with an overall record of 1-2-1, and 0-1-1 in the conference.
