Richard Wilhelm Joins Bronxville's Chapel School As A Spanish Teacher

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Chapel School welcomes its new Spanish teacher Richard Wilhelm.

Wilhem teaches Spanish classes for third- through eighth-grade students at The Chapel School. He is New York State certified in Spanish, and has studied at the Universidad de Oviedo in Spain.  Students in The Chapel Middle School are excited about their new interactive on-line Spanish Program ... AVENCEMOS.

Students are also excited about their new Spanish teacher.

“Mr. Wilhelm is a great guitarist," said one student. "He is also very friendly and funny."

Another student added, " I love hearing when he plays guitar and sings with the classes. Also, he uses the electronic Smartboard frequently." Spanish classes are part of The Chapel School’s multicultural studies program. This program enables the wonderfully diverse Chapel School family, which includes parents, guardians, students, teachers, administrators, to explore and celebrate traditions and accomplishments of people from a wide range of backgrounds.

The focus of that program is to help the students to develop, reinforce and refine communicative competency in listening, speaking, reading, writing and cultural awareness. Wilhelm will supplement the on-line program through the exploration of literature and personal experiences. Students also complete and present individual and group dialogue projects to share what they have learned about the Spanish-Speaking world. The Chapel School is at 172 White Plains Road in Bronxville.
