The long-awaited second phase of the project will include the construction of a new concession stand, installation of new bleachers and a press box.
Contracts for the work was given to Caladri Development Corp., who submitted bids last fall.
A design issue forced the delay in this phase of the project, which was originally conceived as an extension of the turf project, which has since been completed. The project was plagued by low budget estimates and high bids that led to the postponement of the work.
Like the turf field, Phase Two is entirely supported through private donations and grants from the Bronxville School Foundation.
The foundation made an initial grant of $72,000 in 2009, adding to the $170,000 balance remaining in the turf field project account. The latest $82,000 grant will bridge the gap between the budget estimate and actual bid for the concession stand and restroom.
An additional $200,000 gift that was accepted this month will allow the bleachers and press box to be included in the work. Construction is expected to begin soon, with a completion date in the fall.
