TUCKAHOE, N.Y. Nearly 100 students from area high schools joined the AP Biology class at Tuckahoe High School on Wednesday for a conference on genetics.
Featured speaker Sam Rhine has toured the country for 30-plus years, presenting the latest genetic information to high school students and their teachers, according to his website. Rhine, who lives outside Indianapolis, has also spoken to audiences in Toronto; Montreal; Tokyo; Vienna; Prague, St. Petersburg, Russia; and Nairobi, Kenya.
His one-day conferences for biology teachers and students are designed to teach the latest in genetic advances, hot research areas and career opportunities by posing ethical dilemmas that will be presented as technological advances continue.
