Bronxville Students Named To Area All-State Ensembles

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- The Westchester County School Music Association (WCSMA) has selected seven Bronxville High School students for Area All-State music ensembles, part of its 2014 Area All-State Festival Concert to be held Thursday, Nov. 6. at Purchase College, SUNY.

The seven are junior cellist Henry Anderson, symphony orchestra; sophomore oboist Michael Landy, symphony orchestra; Harry Pyle, senior bassist, string orchestra; junior bass Paul Philips, mixed chorus; junior alto Caroline Schetlick, mixed chorus; senior soprano Ariana Scher, mixed chorus and senior soprano Kylie Regan, women’s chorus.

The performers were chosen by WCSMA on the basis of auditions at last spring’s New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Solo Festival. WCSMA, the county arm of NYSSMA, sponsors the Area All-State Festival each year as the equivalent of an all-county festival for Westchester sophomores, juniors and seniors.
