When classes resume on Monday, Feb. 22, there will be new drop-off and pick-up procedures, highlighted by uniformed police officers that will improve student safety and expedite the parking process at the busy Midland Avenue and Pondfield Road entrances.

Once they are stationed outside the entrances, officers will be tasked with maintaining a steady traffic flow while preserving pedestrian passage onto the campus. They will enforce all violations, including cell phone usage and jaywalking, while eliminating double parking on Pondfield Road.

According to village officials, “the goal is to provide a much smoother traffic flow for school parents, as well as drivers using these two routes. Most importantly, the police presence will aid in the enforcement of vehicle and traffic laws that will contribute to the safety of all children near the school.”
