Bronxville School Enrollment Reaches New High

BRONXVILLE N.Y. - Bronxville public schools passed the enrollment mark of 1,600 students this school year and reached a new high in doing so.

Enrollment has risen to 1,627, a three percent increase that accounts for 43 students, said Bronxville Schools Superintendent Dr. David Quattrone. Middle school grades six, seven and eight saw the biggest increase of enrollment with 23 new students, he continued.

The increase can't be pinpointed on any one reason, rather it's probably a combination of a few factors, Quattrone said

"While the change is more than we have had in recent years it's still well within the bounds of normal fluctuation," said Quattrone. "There are probably multiple causes for the increase including people returning from private school and turnover in housing."

Even though enrollment has risen, the school district won't be impacted financially, nor will classroom size be affected, Quattrone said.

"Because the enrollment didn't rise to a certain number we were not required to hire any additional staff," said Quattrone. "Also, learning won't be impacted either because we were able to maintain all of our class sizes in the low 20's."
