BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – After hearing concerns from parents about the late end of the current school year, the Bronxville Board of Education made some alterations and adopted its 2013-2014 calendar.
Classes will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and conclude on June 26, the final day of Regents testing. By state mandates, students may not begin classes before Labor Day, and the last day of school is set by the Commissioner of Education.
There will be 182 days of school for students, with three additional conference days for faculty members. State law requires 180 days for students and 181 days for teachers.
Because of how the December holidays fall this year, students will enjoy a full, two week winter recess, beginning on Dec. 23. If the district needs to utilize additional make-up days, they will occur during the April vacation, between April 14 and 18. Additionally, there will be a week-long break between Feb. 17 and Feb. 21.
