The architectural design, which was underwritten by the PTA, calls for transforming and modernizing the space. It also includes upgrading the electrical system to support more technology, new furnishings and air conditioning. The estimated cost of the project is $800,000.

The PTA chose the project because hundreds of middle school and high school students use the library each week. Renovating the space, with its signature stained-glass windows, seemed like a perfect way to honor tradition, while building for the future. The benefit gala is co-chaired by Jill Pytosh and Lisa Rao with Suzanne Davis, Leana Patel, Hilary Blumenreich and Christine Tormey as auction co-chairs.

The fundraiser will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Bronxville's Siwanoy Country Club. Tickets are available at biddingforgood.com/bxv2015. Prices range from $175 to $5,000 per person, and include dinner, dancing and a silent/live auction. Registered ticket holders can preview auction items at biddingforgood.com/bxv2015. The auction opens for online bidding Friday, April 10.

“We have an amazing selection of auction items, many donated by the Bronxville School community. It’s a testament to the growing enthusiasm for the library project,” said Suzanne Davis, auction co-chair.
