BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Bronxville Parent Teacher Association is donating nearly $1 million to the Board of Education to help fund a renovation of the high school auditorium.

The $7 million auditorium project is part of a $10 million capital plan that includes renovations in the middle school science labs.

The plan was conceived as a public-private partnership funded by $2.5 million in the district’s capital reserves, $3 million from private donations and grants, and $4.5 million from a bond approved by voters in October.

The PTA raised $875,000 at last year’s benefit auction. The Bronxville Board of Education approved the donation at its last meeting. PTA Vice President Margaret Mager called the grant the largest in the history of the Bronxville PTA since 1953.
