The announcement came from the Eastern Division of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), which includes associations of school music educators throughout the Northeast as well as Europe.

Over 850 students gathered for rehearsals beginning April 5 in Atlantic City during the NAfME Eastern Division Biennial Conference. Performances by the five 2017 honors ensembles took place on April 7 and 8 in the Atlantic City Convention Center and in the Adrian Phillips Ballroom in historic Ballroom Hall.

Landy has won numerous honors during his time at Bronxville.  Landy has been a private student of oboist Alan Hollander, adjunct professor of music at Lehman College, since the fourth grade. He is a member of the Bronxville High School Band and of the Westchester Band, which gives outdoor summer performances in Scarsdale.

Landy’s music studies are not limited to the oboe. Since kindergarten, he has been a piano student of Stephanie Ho at Concordia Conservatory in Bronxville, where he has also studied percussion with Yousif Sheronick. He has completed the AP Music Theory course taught by Denise Lutter at Bronxville High School.

Landy’s brother, Christopher, was a 2013 All-National Honor Choir member and a winner of the NAfME’s 2014 Student Composers Competition. Now a junior in a dual degree program at Northwestern University, Christopher is a music composition major in the Bienen School of Music and a radio/television/film major in the School of Communication.
