Airport officials are frustrated by the length of time the airport has been operating with one runway and with the long inspection by the FAA, said the Connecticut Post.
The stoppage occurred after one worker was killed and another drove a truck onto a runway during construction mishaps, the Connecticut Post reported. Those incidents led to a larger investigation that found a number of items that were out of compliance, including concerns about the airport's leadership. In addition, the FAA also wanted better security and other improvements. Recently, the FAA said they hope to be able to release the project by June, added the Connecticut Post.
