The 25-year-old Jersey City mother and child were holding hands when 29-year-old George Small snatched the bag and $3 from the woman and ran toward Pavonia Avenue around noon yesterday, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

PAPD officers tracked him down moments later, he said.

They arrested Small on charges of robbery and receiving stolen property and returned the bag, which contained a container of orange juice, the girl’s scarf, a black tablet with a purple case and a charger.

They also found him carrying two bank debit cards that weren’t his, Pentangelo said.
