Saudino sets minority education, international crime forum

PUBLIC SAFETY: Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino on Wednesday announced a “Minority Education and Preventing International Crimes Forum” scheduled for Monday in Fort Lee in collaboration with the International Crime Prevention Law Enforcement Coalition.

Open to the public from 6 to 10 p.m., the forum at the Double Tree by Hilton on eastbound Route 4 begins with an appreciation dinner recognizing commitment to public service.

The keynote speaker will be Congressman William “Bill” Pascrell.

Also scheduled to attend are Bergen County Executive James Tedesco Jr., Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew S. Pak, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal, U.S. Office of Homeland Security Chief Walter Pullen and Westwood Police Chief Frank Regino, the president of the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association.

The ICPLEC aims to “raise awareness and discussions on international crime prevention, such as terrorism, trade, and legal cultural perspectives,” Saudino said.
