Stamford Goes To Great Heights, Turns On Bright Lights To Ring In Season

STAMFORD, Conn. — Stamford Downtown ushered in the holiday season Sunday night with what has become one of its signature events, the dizzying Heights & Lights extravaganza.

The event include Santa and Rudolf, The Grinch, special guest Yankees GM Brian Cashman (as Cash Elf), and Yogi Berra's granddaughter, Lindsay Berra, as Mrs. Claus - all rappelling down one of Stamford's tallest building's - Landmark Square.

The huge crowds then followed Santa down the block to Latham Park for a tree-lighting ceremony, which featured entertainment from the cast of "Lion King Jr." from Saxe Middle School, and the lighting of Stamford's holiday tree.
