Scavino first met Trump in 1990 when he was a caddie at Briar Hall Golf Club in Briarcliff.

Trump would buy the golf course, rename it Trump National and Scavino rose up the ranks, later becoming executive vice president and general manager. He joined the Trump campaign when it began last summer.

"It's amazing," Scavino said at Trump Tower, the night Trump won Indiana became the presumed GOP nominee. "We've worked so hard these last 10 months."

Scavino said working with Trump means the world to him and said he is like family to him.

"He's loyal to his family and is loyal to me," Scavino said.

When Trump launched his presidential campaign by riding the escalators at Trump Tower, Scavino admits a lot of people were laughing and viewed him as a joke.

"But as the campaign went on, people stopped laughing."

Scavino said as president, Trump would bring jobs back, make the country safe and build a wall at the US-Mexican border to ensure immigrants come into the country legally.

"He's going to make us feel great again," Scavino said, echoing the campaign slogan.

Behind the scenes, Scavino said is a great guy who is very loyal to his employees.

"He truly loves this country," Scavino said. "He wants to keep fighting. He doesn't need to do this. He's putting everything on the line."

A highlight of the campaign for Scavino was when he introduced Trump at a rally in Poughkeepsie. He said he has received lots of support from family and friends back home.

Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
