Wh-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-????? What debate were the readers of "The Daily Voice" watching????

Mika:

People, please listen to the responses given by each presidential candidate! I feel we are losing sight here of the real issues! It's not about who looks presidential or not. It's about the facts!!! Listen to every word that both men are saying!! When Romney says we need jobs, he will cut taxes, he will cut the Obama care etc. Romney doesn't say how he is going to do it!!! He doesn't give specifics!!! Do you know what you are getting as the commander in chief? NO. Don't vote for someone who is impressive. Vote for someone who has made significant changes in this nation, someone who cares for all people, who understands people from all walks of life. Someone who understands the low income population. There's no way that living in this free world, we can expect President Obama can get this nation to where we want it to be in just 4 years!! Are we being realistic?? We let President Bush ram this nation in the ground for 2 terms! We can't even give President Obama the opportunity to finish what he started?? Obama understands that without each and everyone lending a hand to those in need, this country will not advance!! We will be in the trenches and this nation will pay a high price !!!! Low income families will suffer greatly and everyone of us will be affected even if we dontt think so. The only way to build our nation is to provide the low income with a leg up with scholarships to advance them in education, by paying a little more in our taxes so that they could receive healthcare. An educated nation and a health nation of its people is a productive nation. America please open your eyes and listen up!! Don't be swayed by non- existent promises!! Vote smart!! Vote Obama!!!!

cyotos:

Obama put up a smoke screen for 4 years. More people are out of work now than when he started his term. The employment numbers are way higher than 8% probably closer to 20%( Once people use up their unemployment insurance they drop of the grid in the unemployment number). The government is afraid to let the true figure out. I was unemployed for almost 2 years till I found full time employment now making a considerable amount less than I did before the lay off in my previous firm. I applied for Obama’s Making Home A fordable plan. After 1 ½ years of paper work being faxed to GMAC (Who now have filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy) I gave up. Had to get a Lawyer to help me with the modification.
Now we have Obama care. Did your insurance go down, if you say yes you are as big a fiber as Obama. The average health insurance has gone up almost $2,000.00. I asked my plan’s customer service department why and was told there are more people on the roles because of Obama care so their cost have gone up. Thank you Mr. Obama !!! How many non American’s are we footing the bill for. Where is the money going to come from to fund Obama care? OUT OF OUR POCKETS !!! Employers will be laying off full time people and taking on part timers so they don’t have to pay the high insurance costs.
If Obama gets in it will not be God Bless America it will be God Help America. I fought for this country and for the first time in my life I am ashamed of the man called commander and chief. If he gets in you will see within the next four years another 9:11!!!! I think you had better look up the meaning of smart !

fedupinny:

Except for the fact that is was Obama himself who approved of the use of sequestration CONTRARY to what he indicated during the debate.....and now the truth that only some of the news outlets were reporting about WHEN the White House knew that the attach on our consulate and our ambassador was in fact supported by emails sent within 2 hours of the attack.....is it coincidental that those emails came out only after the last debate......Obama needs to go

Fly on the Wall:

Relax folks.... the press has already declared Obama has won NY. Enjoy your day off and go shopping.

mavitale:

I'm rather amused that no one seems to hear Romney saying that he can't achieve his goals (whatever those are, some closely guarded secret apparently) in FOUR YEARS. Why, then, is President Obama expected to clean up 8 years of mess in 4 years, but Romney says he needs more than one term to do it?

It's a joke. The guy is an empty suit, and the Republican machine has been very candid about saying they want someone in office who will 'do as he's told'.

So interesting to hear people characterize the President as "angry" and "arrogant"... traditionally negative terms used to describe black people. I'm waiting for someone to slip and say 'uppity'.

Elmer10511:

I also don't believe most voters are as concerned with foreign policy as they are with the disaster known as the economy- jobs, taxes, jobs!!!!!

Elmer10511:

Obama did well- but continued his trend of degrading the office of the president by being immature, snarky and condescending ( and quite angry ). Maybe some more appearances on the view , the daily show or some parties with rappers would help improve his image.

siojan:

Give me a break! When Obama wasn't so-called 'immature and condescending' in the first debate you all called him weak and lazy. The poor man just cannot win! I think he was superb in the last debate, looking very Presidential, yet with a passion and back-bone that I personally want to see in our Commander and Chief. Four more years!!

rmm:

Romney's track record is in making money, not in creating jobs. Correction: He's created a lot of jobs. It's just that so many of them are in China.

Agreed, we need jobs, and we need them here. The best way to create them at this time is for government investment (bonds and borrowing) in our crumbling infrastructure. That will put people to work and create demand for materials that can kickstart the economy. When people are working and spending more money on food, cars, refrigerators, and TVs, the private sector will pick up. Left to its own devices, the private sector will sit on its assets for years waiting for demand to show up over the horizon.

Giulietta:

Romney has a proven track record of successful investments and creating jobs. Obama has a proven track record of no jobs created and poorly investing in companies that go bust. Obama took our money and poured it into the porcelain fixture never to be seen again. Obama duped the voters into believing he was going to fix things in three years. Yea right! What this country needs are jobs. Jobs that will get people off the welfare rolls and boost their self esteem.

Citizen Jeanne:

You are ill informed. By saving the auto industry the President not only saved jobs but he created them; the auto industry is growing an has been creating thousands more jobs. The President's American Jobs Act was the only reasonable and doable proposal set forth and the Republican controlled House set it aside and refused to even consider it. However, even without Congress, the President has laid the groundwork to create 12 million jobs over the next four years -- something for which Mr. Romney absurdly has been taking credit in his usual dishonest manner. In addition, once President Obama's AJA is passed -- and it will be if he is reelcted -- it will create more construction and manufacturing jobs as well as expand the energy industry, including alternative renewable energy sources, and that will be The Next Big Thing.

The TRUTH:

Never saw a debate where the incumbent President spent all his time attacking the challengers "perceived" views and never articulated his own vision. That is what happens when you have such an abysmal record as President Obama.

Clutz buff rap:

Obama was the clear winner last night. Once again Mitt FLIP FLOPPED. For months now he's crowed in bellicose boasts how he will keep troops in Afghanistan past 2014. Last night, suddenly, he agrees with Obama to bring them home! Amazing! Overnight he's a peacenik! So is he pretending to move to the center, and trick voters into thinking he's "moderate Mitt"? Or is he just an empty headed weather vane, shifting his position with the winds of public opinion? The guy has about as much backbone as a jellyfish.

Any politician who changes their mind constantly, and does not articulate a core set of beliefs CANNOT BE TRUSTED. We need a leader who knows what they stand for, not a COWARD who pretends to be all things to all people.

SugarMag55:

Obama took Romney to school!!

elli:

For the sake of America, it's time for a change!

elli:

It's time for a change ... 4 years of anger and manipulation from the WH is enough!

e10514:

Hahaha, you want a change!!! So you want the country back to Romney=Bush!!! Auch!!!

Adelard:

I don't care who won this debate. Because in November the American people are the ones who will be losing. no matter which one of these two wins, the only people who will truly benefit are wealthy elite, and corporations. It is time we have some real third parties invited to the debates. the lengths that the two dominant parties go to to suppress third parties is disgusting, and not beneficial to our nation.

luis.contreras.16144:

Obama looks bombed out and depleted!!

mavitale:

I can't wait to cast my vote for Barack Obama again.

JMS61:

Obama, Romney is still counting Navy battleships...so 50s...

vetforromney:

Vice Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Mark Ferguson said a few months ago:

“Our role is really about the flexibility of forces, that they can move to various regions, both in this region in the Gulf and outside the Gulf... Should sequestration be enacted, the Navy would not be able to support the current national defense strategy and it would cause a reduction in the size of the fleet to the point that we would have to relook at the strategy,” Ferguson said. The Navy “would be reduced both in size and in its presence around the globe.”

Adelard:

To which Obama immediately replied that he was against sequestration. and that it was congress trying to push it through.

vetforromney:

Sequestration will happen due to a lack of a Federal Budget. A true Executive/Leader would have been calling Congressional members to the White House to work out their differences and pass a budget. A true Executive/Leader would have gone up to the Hill and walked into offices of the Representatives pushing them to work out their differences and pass a budget. Instead this weak excuse for a President allowed Congress to push through the Sequestration. He had his chance and has failed. Romney has a proven track record as an Executive/Leader. We need an Executive/Leader in the White House, not a weak politician.

Yorktowngal:

Who would you entrust with your LIFE savings? Obama or Romney?

Citizen Jeanne:

President Obama, hands down. Mr. Romney has no integrity.

Adelard:

Neither.

caveng97:

Obama for sure.

Harry Reynolds:

Though the probability of achieving it is remote, indeed it may be worthless, still it would be a worthy undertaking for the major and minor powers to discuss the feasibility of a world body bound by an agreement to deal effectively with universal poverty and hunger.

chas.holman:
