Bronxville Campaign Donors Favor Romney

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Republican candidate Mitt Romney continues to top Democrat President Barack Obama among Bronxville contributors to presidential campaigns this year.

As of the end of July, Bronxville donors had given nearly four times as much money to Romney as to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics . But Romney donors only outnumber Obama donors by 1.5 times in Bronxville.

Bronxville residents have made 319 contributions to Obama's and Romney's campaigns in the current voting cycle. Those contributions have amounted to $399,956. Of those, Romney has received 192 contributions totaling $316,950 . Obama has received 127 donations from Bronxville residents, totaling $83,006.

Bronxville donors have donated nearly as much money to politicians and political groups in this election cycle as they did in the 2008 general election. So far in 2012 they've made $2,101,650 worth of political contributions, whereas in 2008 they gave $2,489,021.

The Center for Responsive Politics is a research group that tracks money in U.S. politics. All political candidates must report the names of donors who contribute more than $200. Individuals are allowed to give up to $2,500 to a political candidate for the primary season and another $2,500 for the general election.
