WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Westchester County Executive and gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino unveiled a policy proposal in Albany Aug. 21 to make New York an economically competitive state.

New York ranks at or near the bottom of the list nationwide in various economic categories, such as highest overall taxes, higher unemployment rate than the nation’s and worst state in which to retire.

Astorino says New York needs to be competitive with surrounding states first, and then begin competing with the United States’  leading growth states such as Florida, Texas and the Carolinas.

"Everywhere I go, I ask New Yorkers a simple question: As a state, are we winning or losing?" said Astorino. "The evidence clearly points to us losing, and losing badly to other states. I refuse to accept that. Governor Cuomo failed to deliver on his promise to deliver the real reforms that will turn New York around. I will bring them."

Why can't all New Yorkers have just 1 honest politician
Running our state enstead of more and more corrupt politicians who use and abuse their political powers just to benefit themselves and their cronies? The people
N.Y.S and Westchester are sick and tired of these politicians who do absolutely nothing for its people but raise our taxes and waste our money by over spending.
How many millions of dollars do these politicians waste each year on personal expenditures and on personal favors for there cronies?
The people are entitled to have honest politicians and open and transparency in every level of our government.

Go Rob!

Astorino's only real jobs plan is for himself. When Republicans talk about jobs, they mean bigger profits for millionaires and minimum wage jobs for the unemployed. Cuomo's no bargain, but Astorino is a joke.

I beg to differ, Robbie's tenure has been a bonanza for the hacks in the Yonkers republican party………..

The Cuomo propaganda machine would have you think we're doing great here in the Empire State. Oh really? Prove it with some statistics starting with taxes, jobs and "transfer payments."

Memo to the Governor: PLEASE stop wasting our money with those absolutely silly "Start-Up New York" commercials being aired ad nauseum. Rumor has it that they're yielding "bupkis" results...

And why are we seeing them in NY? We're already here. Why aren't the ads running in California, Florida, Texas or South Carolina where we might actually bring a new company to NY? Is it because NY's business climate is totally uncompetitive with any of these states? I think so and if we didn't have Wall St. proping up NY's finances, we'd be in deep sh_t.

Cuomo's ok but Astorino would be much better for NY.
