BRONXVILLE, N.Y. A Bronxville woman was arrested June 6 after she allegedly drove her minivan into two Lake Avenue garages, potentially damaging a load-bearing wall and exposing electrical wires, Bronxville police reported.
She was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and the cause of the accident is unknown, said police spokesman Sgt. Richard Anderson. She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle on a suspended drivers license and released on $250 bail.
Eastchester fire officials were called to the accident, which occurred at about 5:20 p.m. to cut power to the exposed electric wires, and the village Building Department was notified that a load-bearing wall may have been compromised, Anderson said. He described the damage as being extensive.
