Norwalk Police Use Stun Gun To Subdue Suspect

NORWALK, Conn. – A 30-year-old Norwalk man, who police said appeared to be intoxicated, was subdued by officers Wednesday during an altercation with officers on Woodward Avenue.

Rogerlio Cardenas, of Belle Avenue, was treated at Norwalk Hospital following the incident, which occurred about 8:45 p.m., police said.

While an officer was interviewing someone on Woodward Avenue on an unrelated matter, Cardenas walked up to them and is accused of swinging at the officer, police said. The officer pushed Cardenas away, but he came back at the officer and an altercation ensued, which led to Cardenas being subdued with a stun gun.

Police said Cardenas appeared to be intoxicated at the time.

Cardenas was charged with misdemeanor breach of peace and interfering with an officer. He was held in lieu of a $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday.
