Troopers responded to reports of a disabled vehicle on the Sprain Brook Parkway. The driver, who identified himself as William Starke, was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and released, police said.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the name William Starke was a false identity given by Ronald M. Ackridge II, 59, who was allegedly attempting to avoid felony charges due to DWI convictions in 2010 and 2014, police said.

Ackridge was picked up by Troopers at his residence and charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and second-degree criminal impersonation. He is due to appear in court on Thursday, Feb. 4, police said.
