YONKERS, N.Y. -- An elderly Yonkers couple believed to be a noted composed and his wife died in a three-alarm fire overnight Thursday at 81 Hillcrest Avenue in Yonkers, according to lohud.com.

The two victims were found on the second floor, the Yonkers Fire Department said. More than 70 firefighters battled the blaze.

One of the victims was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers and the other to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where they were both pronounced dead, according to lohud.com

Composer Ronald Senator, 89, and pianist Miriam Brickman, 81, had both been in declining health, lohud reported.

Two other people inside the house survived.

The fire, which broke out around 11 p.m. Wednesday, was controlled around 2 a.m., the Yonkers Fire Department reported.

Several firefighters sustained minor injuries, according to the Yonkers Fire Department.
