Contractor Charged With Stealing More Than $50K From Scarsdale Seniors

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale police have arrested a Vermont native on charges of grand larceny after he allegedly stole more than $50,000 from an elderly Scarsdale family he was working for.

James D. Perron, 48, of Tinmouth, Vt., surrendered at police headquarters on a felony arrest warrant last week. He has been charged with second-degree grand larceny, a class C felony.

Under New York state law, Perron faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Perron, a general contractor and handyman who was working for an 80-year-old and a 93-year-old resident in Fox Meadow, allegedly stole more than $50,000 in cash. He was arraigned by Scarsdale Justice John Galloway and has been held at Westchester County Jail until a court hearing scheduled for Wednesday, May 28.
