An 87-year-old woman reported to police earlier this month that an unknown person called her home and pretended to be her grandson, claiming he had been arrested and needed money to make the charges go away.
Police said that the woman insisted on talking to her grandson, and was able to determine that it was a fake caller by asking personal questions that only her grandson would know, thus foiling the caller's plan. The incident is currently being investigated by police.
