At approximately 4:15 a.m. on June 17, officers conducting traffic control on Post Road stopped Jessica Sotomayor after she was spotted swerving and repeatedly crossing over the pavement markings.
Police said that during the subsequent traffic stop at the intersection of Post and Crane Road, Sotomayor told officers that she had consumed a beer and two Cosmopolitans several hours earlier at a bar in White Plains.
While speaking with Sotomayor, officers reported that they detected a strong odor of alcohol and her eyes were glassy and bloodshot.
Sotomayor failed multiple Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and an also-sensor pre-screening test at the scene determined she had a blood alcohol content of .12 percent. Sotomayor was subsequently arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge. At Scarsdale Police Headquarters, Sotomayor’s blood alcohol content was determined to be .14 percent.
Police charged Sotomayor with misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08 percent. She was also cited for moving from her lane while driving, an infraction. Sotomayor was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court on Wednesday.
