BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Area residents should always keep their car doors locked, especially at night, according to a spate of thefts from parked cars reported to Bronxville police over the past two weeks.
On June 18, the resident of a Greenfield Avenue home told police officers that approximately $40 was taken from the center console of a 2012 Mercedes Benz and a 2009 Honda between 7:20 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. Both vehicles were left unlocked, police said.
Two days later on June 20, a Sturgis Road resident told police almost $200 was taken from a 2006 Honda and a 2006 Lexus while parked overnight. Again, police said, the cars had been left unlocked between 11:30 p.m. and 7:45 a.m.
On June 24, police said a wallet containing $300 and credit cards and personal papers were taken from a 2010 Lexus parked on Hemlock Road between 7:30 p.m. and 1 a.m. Details on whether the car was locked were unavailable.
