According to Police Chief Christopher Satriale, the burglary occurred overnight at an unlocked home. The incident comes on the heels of a burglary in Scarsdale last week.

“We are investigating a residential burglary that occurred overnight. Entry into the residence was made via an unlocked door,” Satriale said. “We are urging residents to lock all doors and windows to their home at all times and to active alarm systems.”

Satriale further advised residents that any and all suspicious activity ought to be reported to the police, and that they should stay on the lookout near their properties.

Last month, there was a string of burglaries in Eastchester. Earlier in the summer the Tuckahoe Police Department offered several suggestions to homeowners about avoiding such a situation.

“If (one) observes suspicious activity or a car alarm is activated at any time, the police desk should be contacted immediately.”
