Thomas J. Rizzi, 99, Manager, Pacific Tea Company In Bronxville

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Thomas J. Rizzi, of New Rochelle, and a former resident of Pelham for 60 years, died May 8. He was 99.

Rizzi served as a staff sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II from 1943 to 1946. After his discharge, he resumed his career with the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P) as manager of their branch store in Bronxville, a position he held up until his retirement in the late 1960s.

Rizzi is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Nettie) Rizzi of New Rochelle; son, Gregory Rizzi; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Bolker; a granddaughter; caregiver, Elizabeth; siblings, Frank Rizzi, Caroline Rizzi, Theresa Henry and Mary Kozak; sisters-in-law, Eileen Rizzi, Clara Rizzi, Grace Scocozza and Jeanne Solicito; many nieces, nephews; and great-nephews and great-nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary Vasco Rizzi; brothers, John and Carlo Rizzi; sister, Adriana Del Pozzo; brothers-in-law, Connie Kozak and Nicolas Del Pozzo; and sister-in-law, Ella Rizzi.

Calling hours are Sunday, May 11 from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pelham Funeral Home at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham. Church services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 12 at St. Catharine's Church at 25 Second Ave., Pelham. Burial Services will follow immediately at Ferncliff Cemetery at 280-284 Secor Road, Hartsdale.
