John S. Clark, 84, Of Bronxville

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - John Stephen Clark of Bronxville died Aug. 21. He was 84.

Clark was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Queens Village. He graduated from Georgetown University (BA), Columbia Law School (JD) and Columbia University (MA in European Studies, 2001).  He served in Korea (1952 to 53) as a 1st lieutenant, U.S. Air Force and as an assistant U.S. attorney (SDNY). 

He was a senior partner of Abeles, Clark, Osterberg and Prager, specializing in copyright and entertainment litigation representing many clients including the rock and roll band AC/DC. He was counsel to the N.Y. State Racing Commission, a member of the Planning Board of the City of Yonkers and director of the Puccini Foundation. He was a Knight of Malta and Knight of the Holy Sepulchre.  He was a former member of the Directors of the Georgetown University Alumni Association, a trustee of St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, a tutor at St. Ignatius Middle School and mediator for the U.S. District Court (SDNY).

Clark is survived by his wife, Mary Caroline (Leary); children John Stephen, Jr. (Heidi), Danny, Margie (Stephen Finn) and Jennifer (Tim McGrath); 10 grandchildren; sister, Anne Prout; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph P. Clark.

Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Fred H.  McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26 at St. Joseph's Church, Bronxville.
