John M. Bahr, 61, Bronxville Resident

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- John M. Bahr, a resident of Bronxville, passed away on Aug. 20 at the age of 61.

He was born on October 27, 1953 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the Rev. Albert and Loide (Cordes) Bahr. He was employed for over 35 years at Concordia College in various positions such as Dean of Students, Professor of English, Director of the Concordia Distinctive, and Director of Admission. He was a member and past president of the Eastchester Rotary Club, and a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. John is survived by his wife Janice Bahr, children Emily and Benjamin Bahr, parents Rev. Albert and Loide Bahr, five brothers: Paul, Joel, Seth, Mark, and David Bahr, and a sister Mary Moehring.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Aug. 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. Eastchester. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 17 East Grand Street, Mt. Vernon.
