BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Elaine K. Yale, a Bronxville resident, died Monday, Oct. 19 of a stroke.
Born in Boston, Yale attended Girls' Latin School and earned a degree in chemistry from Radcliffe College. She obtained her master's degree at the Teachers College of New York after realizing teaching math was her true passion.
She raised her children while working in the Mount Vernon school system for nearly 40 years. She continued teaching at Westchester Community College until this past spring.
Yale is survived by her three children and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted in her honor at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29 at the Sinai Free Synagogue, 550 N. Columbus Ave., Mount Vernon.
