Dr. Robert E. Madden, 89, Of Bronxville

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Dr. Robert E. Madden, of Bronxville, died on Thursday, July 30. He was 89.

Madden was born on Sept. 16, 1925 in Oak Park, Ill. to Joseph and Gertrude Madden.

After serving in the Army during World War II, he became Chief of Vascular Surgery, professor and cancer researcher at New York Medical College until retiring in 2011.

Madden is predeceased by his parents, his wife Susan and brother Francis.

He is survived by four children, Robert of Menifee, Calif., Lisa of St. Louis, Miss., Karen, and Kevin of Nashville, Tenn., and eight grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yannantuono Burr Davis Sharpe Funeral Home, located at 584 Gramatan Avenue in Mt. Vernon.

A mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
