YONKERS, N.Y. - Barbara D. Rup (nee Fletcher) of Yonkers died Tuesday, Dec. 17. She was 89.
Rup was born June 12, 1924, to Michael and Hermina (Nepurski) Fletcher in Yonkers where she was raised and attended local schools. She worked as the food service supervisor at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. She was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew's Church.
Rup is survived by her daughters, Claire (Kenneth) Kakos and Carole (Richard) Hudak; four grandchildren; a step grandson; sister, Marian Fletcher; and brother, Joseph Fletcher. She was predeceased by her husband, John C. Rup; and son, Joseph Rup.
Calling hours are Saturday, Dec. 21 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 21 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
