Ann Marie Mangan, 78, Of Bronxville

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Ann Marie Mangan of Bronxville died Friday, Sept. 20. She was 78.

Mangan was born Jan. 17, 1935, in the Bronx, daughter of Leo and Margaret Doherty. She attended St. Pius Grammar School and High School. After her marriage she resided in Bronxville for the past 35 years. She was a member of The Church of St. Joseph in Bronxville.

Mangan is survived by her children, Margaret Mangan Murtagh (John) of Bronxville, Maryann Mangan Palermo (Christopher) of Bronxville, Eileen Mangan Van Hoek (Andrew) of Bronxville and James (Kelly Mulvoy) Mangan of Harrison; 13 grandchildren; and sisters, Kathleen Fitzsimons of Huntley, Ill., Sr. Mechtilde Doherty, O.P. of the Bronx and Sr. Bernadette Marie Doherty, O.P. of the Bronx. She was predeceased by her husband, John Mangan;brother, Patrick Doherty of Windham; and sister, Bernadette Schwartz of Rainier, Ore.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Church of St. Joseph in Bronxville. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
