What You Need to Know About Eastchester Elections

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Polls will open from 6 am to 9 pm throughout for all 39 districts throughout Eastchester, including the villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe.

Here is everything you need to know about who will appear on the ballot.

County Board of Legislators

District 10 : Eastchester, Tuckahoe, New Rochelle

Sheila Marcotte (Incumbent)

Party Endorsements: Republican, Conservative, Independent

Education: Education: College of New Rochelle, BA Psychology.

Experience: Eastchester Town Councilwoman, 7 years; Tuckahoe Village Trustee, 2 ½ years; Tuckahoe Planning Board, Tuckahoe Library Board Trustee

Goals: Keeping Westchester County affordable; continue to find savings within the county and introduce cost-saving initiatives; fiscal responsibility to ensure that Westchester cannot continue to spend more than it makes.

John Fitzpatrick

Party Endorsements: Democrat, Working Families

Education: AS, Labor Relations, SUNY Empire State College, '86

Experience: Mayor, Village of Tuckahoe (2 terms); Trustee, Tuckahoe (1 term); Planning Commissioner, Tuckahoe (5 years)

Goals: "We need to attract new businesses, increase revenue to provide taxpayer relief, and eliminate partisan hysteria. We must work together on these complex issues for the good of our residents."

District 15 : Bronxville, Yonkers

Gordon Burrows

Party Endorsement: Republican

Education: BA Ithaca College, St. John's School of Law

Prior Civic Service: Ten years serving on the Yonkers City Council. For seven years, I was the Council's Majority Leader and chaired the Committees on Education and Municipal Operations and served on the Budget Committee.

Goals: "I worked with my colleagues through a contentious budget negotiation last year that resulted in a 2% reduction of the county tax levy. I will continue to find savings by eliminating waste and maximizing efficiencies through shared services while preserving the social safety net. I also plan to -eliminate overzealous regulation and over-taxation on small business so they can grow jobs.

Theo Moustakopoulos

Education: Degree in Psychology from University of South Florida, International scholar at Cambridge University

Experience: GOYA Greek Youth Group Presdent

Goals: " My approach is simple I support lower taxes, tough DWI Penalties. Bipartisanship for effective legislation. I want to serve my constituents with pride and show them real results via my vote as their future county legislator."

Delfim Heusler

Party Endorosements: Working Families

“I am the David in this race,” he said.

Goals: Opposes the 2 percent tax cap because the county has to pay for many state-mandated programs, he said, mentioning Medicaid, corrections and probation, board of election and social services, among others.

Eastchester Town Supervisor

Supervisor Anthony Colavita, Jr. (Incumbent)

Party Endorsements: Republican, Conservative, Independent

Education: BA Colgate University, Pace University Law School

Experience: 4 two year terms as Supervisor

GoaIs: "I would like to maintain the high level of services we have come to enjoy in Eastchester and preserve the high level of volunteerism that has come about during my administration. Further, I want to make sure that I can keep Eastchester affordable to the best of my abilities with regard to reducing spending and finding new sources of revenue.

Town Board (Two Seats Available)

Glenn Bellitto, (Incumbent)

Party Endorsements: Republican, Conservative, Independent

Education BA Harvard College, Masters Harvard Business School

Experience: Deputy Mayor, Village of Bronxville, Member Zoning Board

Goals: Cut spending with an eye to keeping taxes under control, while preserving the character of the town.

Joseph Dooley, (Incumbent)

Party Endorsements: Republican, Conservative, Independent

Education: BA Pace University

Experience: Community of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe-Executive Board Member and Co-Chair Eastchester Campaign *Founding Member Eastchester Irish American Social Club Parade Committee

Goals: Keeping taxes and spending low, while maintaining character of town. Insuring open space and environmental responsibility.

John Fillibirti

Party Endorsements: Democrat, Working Families

Education: BS St. John's University

Experience: Nine years as a member of the Eastchester Board of Education

Goals: Filliberti says that what the town board needs is diversity. Pointing to the all Republican Board, he notes that a different perspective will help the board meet challenges like keeping taxes down, preserving services and supporting small businesses.

Anita Rosner

Party Affiliation: Democrat, Working Families

Goals: Rosner is very interested and determined to make a difference for business owners in town.

"I plan on staging a mini stimulus package program for small businesses right here in town," she said.

Dominick Porco

Pary Endorsements: Republican, Conservative, Independence

Experience: 20 years as Eastchester Town Justice.

Goals: "Our caseload has increased dramatically over the last 10 years or so because of better law enforcement tools and passage of laws - particularly in the area of domestic violence. We're dealing with a dramatically increased caseload without having dramatically increased our budget.'"

Janet Calano

Education: BA, SUNY Albany, Pace Law School

Experience: Deputy Town Attorney; Town Attorney; President, School Foundation; President, Eastchester Bar Association.

Goals : "I will take my experience of 25 years in private practice and as Town Attorney into the Courtroom to uphold the dignity of my predecessors while administering justice fairly."

Town Clerk

Linda Doherty

Party Endorsement: Republican, Conservative, Independent

Education: BS, University of Charleston

Goals: "As Town clerk I have worked to bring new ideas and systems to our office. I look forward to challenges and most importantly to continue to work for Eastchester's residents. "

Reciever of Taxes

Rocco Cacciola

Education: BA, Pace University, St. John's Law School

Experience: Trustee, Village of Tuckahoe; Councilman, Town of Eastchester .

Goals: "Many improvements have been made to the Tax Office the past 4 years. Hoping to add further technological improvements to make the payment of taxes more efficient for the taxpayers ."
