The 5 p.m. accident occurred when a pickup truck collided with a limousine in which the women, who were visiting wineries in Suffolk County's North Fork, were passengers.
Melissa Angela Crai, a 23-year-old Scarsdale resident, was among those injured, according to a report by Newsday. She is a 2010 Eastchester High School graduate who studied speech-language pathology at Lehman College in the Bronx.
The limousine was attempting to make a left-hand turn when it was hit by the pickup truck, according to WABC-TV.
The driver of the pickup truck, 55-year-old Steven Romeo of Southold, was arraigned from his hospital bed on DWI charges.
All four women who died lived in Smithtown.
Two other women injured, in addition to Crai, were from Long Island and the other from Brooklyn, according to Newsday.
The driver of the limousine was also hospitalized.
