EASTCHESTER, N.Y. – Water pressure has been restored to Bronxville residents after a water main break on Kensington Road caused discoloration and interrupted service Monday morning.

Early Monday morning, Bronxville residents in certain areas in the village reported brown water and that water pressure was down following the break. Officials were promptly on scene and had the situation resolved by the afternoon.

Village officials were swift to note the discolored water was safe to consume, though laundry should not be run. Homeowners can clear their pipes by running cold water from a faucet at the lowest point on the property for a few minutes as a precaution.
