BRONXVILLE, N.Y. Traffic moved at a slow pace along Pondfield Road on Wednesday as drivers attempted to get a glimpse of actor Kevin Bacon, in Bronxville to film his new TV show "The Following."
Bacon had a 10 a.m. call, or scheduled time to be at the shooting, according to producers, and filmed his scene inside Womrath Bookstore. Bronxville residents gathered across the street peeking over film equipment.
You really cant see anything, said Deirdre Griffin of Bronxville. Ive been standing here for while, went and did some errands and came back and everything seems to be the same.
An extremely happy Bacon fan said she was willing to wait all day.
Ive been here since the morning and Im not moving my car until I see him, said Eastchester resident Michelle Morrow. Hes one of my favorite actors, so Ill be really disappointed not to see him. Ill wait 'til they pack up for the day if I have to.
Some Bronxville residents were a little annoyed at the added traffic on Pondfield Road.
Its taking me 10 minutes to get through a street that usually takes me 30 seconds, Robinson Monroe said while waiting at a red light. I honestly dont see what the big deal is.
A Bronxville Police Department spokesperson said the added traffic was factored into the department's patrol of the area. In addition, Warner Brothers studios hired off-duty Bronxville police officers to assist with security and traffic flow.
We are definitely excited to be shooting in Bronxville, said Warner Brothers studio spokesperson Chris McLaughlin. Our cast and crew have worked really hard to make the first day of shooting for 'The Following' a success. That includes everyone in the village that has been so helpful.
The Following is set to air in January on FOX.
