BRONXVILLE N.Y. ? As 2012 draws to a close, The Bronxville Daily Voice is recapping some of the year's top stories.
Eckley eventually withdrew the suit, but it caused controversy among residents and officials. While many residents defended Eckley, Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin defended the village's actions of granting and then taking back the raise.
Eckley went on to become director of the Larchmont Public Library. Her resignation led to Bronxville resident Linda Smith-Shearer being appointed temporary interim director , and a search for a permanent director that would cost taxpayers more than $7,500 .
In May, the board selected Gabriella Radujko , a New York City resident, as permanent director. Radujko, who had worked in the New Jersey library system for 10 years, was selected because of her experience, which included developing library collections.
Radujko has since become well-acquainted with Bronxville in an effort to serve and improve the library. Marvin, her colleagues and library-goers have praised her tireless work ethic and forward-thinking mindset in expanding the library's programs.
