BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Monday marks the one-year anniversary of "Snowtober's" assault on Bronxville. While a freak, record-breaking snowstorm is unlikely to hit Bronxville, a coastal storm now dubbed "Frankenstorm," may push for a repeat.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued by The National Weather Service for Hurricane Sandy, which is now in the Caribbean. The storm could bring heavy rainfall and high winds throughout New York early next week, according to the agency.

Many Bronxville residents, including Franco Brancato, haven't given storm preparations any thought yet because last winter was so mild after "Snowtober."

"Every year is different, so you really can't bank on there being good or bad weather in advance," Brancato said. "We were hit pretty hard last year, but I didn't hear of any real damage, more just hassles like getting your car out. You have to take in every single day and just prepare for anything."

The New York State Office of Emergency Management , estimated the damage done in last year's storm to be around $8.4 million . Bronxville residents say they aren't looking back on last year's storm, and will wait to be instructed on what to do for this upcoming one.

Last year's storm's biggest impact on Bronxville by far was how many trees fell, said Bronxville resident Cynthia Houx.

"The good thing about Bronxville is how many great trees we have; the bad thing is how many of them fall down during storms," Houx said. "As for this upcoming storm, I'm not too worried about it. I'll just try park in a good place for now."
