Red Flag Warning Issued For Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag warning for the tristate area starting at noon Saturday and lasting until 8 p.m.

A Red Flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected or occurring and that a strong combination of winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels will create a significant elevated fire growth potential, says the report.

Affected areas include the lower Hudson Valley and Southern Connecticut along with northeast N.J. and Long Island.
