TUCKAHOE, N.Y. -- Pilgrims and Native Americans sang songs followed by a Thanksgiving lunch of chicken nuggets, homemade corn bread and butter at Immaculate Conception School Tuesday morning.
Principal Maureen Harten said there were about 60 pre-schoolers from three different classes who sang songs much to the delight of their families.
Harten gave all of the credit to school music teacher Jennifer Gizzo, who starts preparing the kids for the show in September.
In addition to providing the entertainment, the preschoolers also created their own holiday hats and made the corn bread and butter.
Father Raaser said he has seen a big improvement in the kids in the short time they have been in school.
"The first time we get them on stage there are tears, " Raaser said. "They have grown up a lot since school began."
Raasser said the annual celebration is a great way to get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday.
