A pedestrian was not seriously injured after being struck by a car Thursday morning in Tuckahoe near Angelina's Restaurant.
Joel Freeman, 86, of Eastchester was struck on Lake Avenue by a car traveling north. He had only minor injuries, scratches and scrapes on his hands and elbows. He was taken to Sound Shore Hospital by the Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he was treated and released.
Lieutenant Margaret Belles, of the Tuckahoe Police Department, said the driver, whose name is being withheld, is not facing any charges.
"The driver was cooperative. He and the victim were waiting for us on the sidewalk after the accident," she said.
