Kevin Bacon Filming In Bronxville On Wednesday

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Bronxville residents won’t be six degrees away from Kevin Bacon anymore. The Hollywood veteran is set to film FOX’s new TV show "The Following" throughout Wednesday in the village’s downtown area.

Producers have scheduled three locations for shooting: 77 Pondfield Road, Womrath Bookstore and Kraft Bistro. Filming starts at 9 a.m. and wraps at 8 p.m.

“It’s fun to see Hollywood come to our neighborhood,” said Robert Milner, a Bronxville resident and Womrath Bookstore patron. “Some of the streets will be closed off, but I think it’s worth the sacrifice for a day to see the town we love showcased on TV.”

Womrath Bookstore will be closed for the day, but this has become par for the course. “We had a Tina Fey movie shoot here recently,” said Womrath bookstore owner Eugene Sgarlata. “It’s exciting to be a part of, and for us specifically this is a slow time of year, so it’s the right time to do it.”

Sgarlata isn’t privy to any of the story lines. “They play that pretty close to the vest,” he said. “I just know that they have to move some things around.”

"The Following" stars Bacon as well as Shawn Ashmore of "X-Men" fame. The show will be Bacon’s first foray into television. He will play a former FBI agent who is asked to come back and help find a serial killer who has escaped from prison.

Earlier this summer Fey’s new movie, "Admission," also filmed at the Womrath Bookstore. Both "Admission" and "The Following" are scheduled for release next year.
