Jewelry Reported Stolen From Two Bronxville Stores

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Jewelry was shoplifted from two Bronxville stores over the past two days, according to police reports.

An item of jewelry was stolen from a display in a store on Pondfield Road at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday, said Detective Richard Anderson, spokesman for the Bronxville Police Department. A gold bracelet valued at $250 was also taken from an open display at another Pondfield Road store Monday evening, he added.

The following items also were reported to Bronxville police:

• A resident last Wednesday reported receiving what Detective Richard Anderson described as a “disparaging” letter in the mail. No additional information could be made public because of the ongoing investigation, he said.

• Complaints of a burning odor on the third floor of a building on Stone Place on Monday stemmed from a faulty light fixture, Eastchester Fire Department officials said. There was no fire or damage. Firefighters disconnected the fixture.

• Officers assisted with four reported vehicle accidents since April 10. No injuries were reported. There was no property damage other than to the cars involved.
