As temperatures are expected to soar to the high 90's in Eastchester Thursday, experts are recommending drinking lots of water to beat the heat. But not all liquids are equal, according to health professionals. Alcohol and drinks with caffeine are not recommended in high heat. Light colored clothes and limited time outside are also recommended to help people keep cool.
If someone wants to be outside, a simple spray bottle filled with water is a great way to give kids, pets and even yourself a refreshing spritz. Eastchester residents, including those who live in Bronxville and Tuckahoe, have an added option for cooling off. Lake Isle has five swimming pools for those who want to keep cool and frolic at the same time.
The heat wave is expected to break tomorrow, when temperatures are expected to only reach the upper
80s!
