Gingerbread Man Takeover at Bronxville Library

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Visions of gingerbread were dancing in the heads of kids in the Children's Room at the Bronxville Library on Saturday afternoon. The kids came together to decorate their very own gingerbread cookie with vanilla frosting, candy canes and gum drops among other goodies.

The event was the brainchild of Children's Reference Librarian Christine Utchel and Librarian Erin Schirota. Utchel said they ordered 100 gingerbread cookies from Topps Bakery in Bronxville for the kids to decorate.

Shirota estimated that at least 50 kids attended, but by the end of the activity none of the cookies were left. This was the first holiday event of the season held for children at the Bronxville Library.
