Clippers Men Edged by Caldwell College

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Concordia College Clippers men's basketball team fell just short Thursday in 80-78 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to Caldwell College.

Concordia (5-4, 2-2 CACC) and Caldwell were neck and neck on the scoreboard throughout the game.

Junior Argelix Gil (Brooklyn, NY) led the Clippers with 24 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field while adding 10 rebounds, two steals and a block. Lavor Morris added 22 points off the bench while chipping in with five rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Neither team could gain an advantage until Caldwell went ahead with 8:51 to go in the first half. Concordia stayed close and eventually tied the game at 37-37 after a three-point basket by Morris with just less than three minutes left in the period. The second half was tight throughout.

Caldwell made 6 of 10 free throws in the final minutes to seal the win.

Concordia (5-4, 2-2 CACC) travels next to Southern Connecticut State on December 18 in New Haven, Conn.
